out of NIC to the Router. From router packet goes through internet cloud to the Router to NIC of the receiving server. Server application receives the packet and thus communications between two computers have been established. During the entire process data travel through different layers; Layer 2 is Data Link Layer. In this layer computers are physically connected to each other. Data Link Layer is the protocol layer that handles moving of data in and out in across a physical link network. Layer 3 is Network Layer also known as internet layer. Internet layer is a group of internetworking methods, protocols and specifications that transport packets from the origin host across network boundaries to destination host by an IP address. Routers talk to each other governed by IP protocol. IP protocol job is to deliver the packet from one point to another. There is also Routing Protocol which specifies how they talk to each other and determine specific choice of route. Layer 4 which also known as Transport Layer (TCP/UDP) is responsible for end-to-end communication over a network. Transport layer deliver data from one application to another application. 3: (15) what is Datalink layer? Wha t is it’s funct ion (Datalink layer)?
