companies or a person’s years of experience in the field. More than likely they would have experience things that would Legitimate power means that the companies or person was selected to be put in authority. The power can however be taken away by the same authority who initially gave the power. For example, the babysitter has the authority to discipline the child until the parent decides to take that authority away. The babysitter usually has the authority while the parent is away but when they return the parent releases the babysitter from that power. Another example of legitimate power is President Obama making a stand on immigration reform. But there can be problems when all the power is reliant on legitimacy. When this happens then it would mean that it would mean that people who are no legitimate may have to take a stand against the person who is legitimate to balance the power. The last and final power is referent power. Referent power is from the affiliations of organizations or groups that a person or companies are a part of. For example, Hillary Clinton will use her power as a post-First Lady of the United States, State Senator, and Secretary of State to try and win the election in 2016. She will use her expert referent power to get people to vote for her.
