folks” are given. This aggravates several people, because they believe that they live in a place where equality should be visibly present! Hughes shows the readers that when conflict is man versus man, people have to stand up for what they believe in and speak up for themselves. If people don’t stand up for what they believe in and profess that there is an issue, then how do they expect it to be resolved? People need to speak up for what they want, this way they have a better chance getting it. In the story the character spoke up in what he believed in and spoke up for what was important to him which was to get food, and because he did that, he and the narrator ate dinner that night. Hughes displays to the readers that just because people could be a product of their environment doesn’t mean they have to be, no matter if the conflict is internal or external. When internal conflict arises, Hughes reveals to the readers that there are ways to resolve that conflict, even when it is hard and potentially goes against morals. Hughes also presents conflict as man versus man this can be an extremely difficult time, but Hughes also gives the readers strategies and examples on how to resolve that conflict. nchOriginalityReport.aspx?submissionId=627400865

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
