Civil Engineering is a 4-year program. They need a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, in one of its specialties, or in civil engineering technology. They typically need a graduate degree and licensure for promotion to senior positions. Although licensure requirements vary within the United States, civil engineers usually must be licensed in the locations where they provide services directly to the public. Civil Engineering is a controlled major. The median annual wage for civil engineers was $82,220 in May 2015. It is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and building. I am currently studying Aerospace Engineering. I became interested in this program by knowing that i will have a good guidance and support by my cousin brother since he completed Masters in Aerospace Engineering and i also have been so interested in studying math and physics related things. A co-op program incorporates paid professional career training into a typical degree. Students alternate their time in the classroom with significant time in a real workforce setting. In addition to earning an hourly wage for their work, many participants receive academic credit or a transcript notation when they have successfully completed their co-op program. Some advantages of the co-op program are gain practical experience in their chosen career fields; have the opportunity to apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to actual on-the-job experiences; earn money for school tuition and expenses; work on state-of-the-art equipment; learn how to work in teams and adapt to different employment situations. Although there are some disadvantages of the program also. A co-op program extends the length of the program, noramly by a year or 1/2 a year and Higher admissions averages.
