up from the cup made Lucy scrunch up her nose in disgust. “Thanks, but I’ll just go drink it inside because I’m kind of hot out here.” She inched away from him with the intention of throwing the drink away as soon as she was out of sight, but he stopped her yet again. “No, just drink it here. I want to see how you like it.” Chris said. “Um, no I’m good; I’ll just go drink it inside.” Lucy said nervously. “No,” said Chris with a serious face. He was more firm this time; she noticed the playful tone of his voice was gone, it had changed to demanding. “Drink it now.”
Lucy’s heart dropped as she slowly realized where the situation was heading. She frantically looked around for someone to help her, but there was no one in sight. She looked up at him with pleading eyes, but his expression didn’t change. His mouth was set in a straight line as his cold eyes lingered on the cup then to her as he waited for Lucy to start drinking the “juice.” Defeated, she took a deep breath and raised the cup to her lips. Just as she was about to take a sip, she paused then poured the drink all over the ground. “What the hell! You witch!” Chris screamed. He grabbed Lucy by the hair and started to drag her towards his car. “You like throwing peoples’drinks right? You like to play hard to get? I’ll show you!” Lucy shrieked at the top of her lungs but Chris quickly put his hand over her mouth and muffled her cries. Pretty soon, Lucy lost her consciousness and passed out due to a panic attack. Chris carried her to his car, threw her in and then shut the door lightly, so no one from the party would suspect anything. Afterwards, Chris walked over to the driver’s side, started the car, and drove away into the night.Lucy suddenly awoke to the sounds of Chris cussing and kicking his car. “What the hell! Ugh, why did this stupid, raggedy old car have to break down on me now?!” Chris cried angrily. Lucy peered out the window, still dazed but slowly regaining her consciousness. She tried to recall what had just taken place, and pretty soon everything came rushing back to her. She couldn’t believe this was actually happening to her. Did she really get kidnapped from the party and now she was stranded with a psycho guy she barely knew in the middle of nowhere? She slumped down in her seat in complete disbelief and shock. Her shoulders started to shake and she bit her lip, forcing herself not to cry. But it was nearly impossible not to given the situation she was in, and soon tears started streaming down her face like a waterfall. Chris whirled aroundand looked towards the Lucy’s direction. Her eyes were closed and she was breathing lightly, Chris turned back around after confirming she was still unconscious. Lucy slowly opened her
eyes again and shakily looked out the window at Chris. Oh my God, that was too close. How many more chances do I get until he actually decides to do something? Lucy thought. I need to get out of here. It’s either now or never. Lucy waited until Chris started dialing someone’s number on his phoneand became occupied with that.
