taken for Vancomycin-resistant enterococci(VRE), Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus(MRSA), Central line-associated blood-stream infection(CLABSI), Catheter-associated urinary tract infection(CAUTI), Ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP) and other hospital acquired infections and events for screening, trends, treatments and quality assurance. These data are analyzed to see if policies and procedures need to be changed or improved so as to reduce and eliminate these unwanted trends and improve patient outcomes. The use of statistics for all these topics andseveral others has resulted in providing staff training with up-to-date evidence-based practice in order to promote quality care and competent man-power. Also, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems(HCAHPS) is a standardized survey tool used by my facilitygiven to random patients whereby data is collected and analyzed in order to assess their opinion of the hospital care received(Thompson,2014). The result of this statistics is used to reimburse my facility and improve quality assurance.
