gone through shifts from one developmental path to another. Although many people contest the original proposal of Darwin’s simple continuity of the brain because of lack of evidence, there is little evidence to support that discontinuity occurs as well (Premack, 2007). The universal vs. context-specific issue deals with the idea that there is just one path of development or that there are several. I believe that the context-specific side of this issue is more applicable than the universal side. In today’s world, there are too many different environments and cultures to be able to say that universal development occurs. There are too many factors that can alter a person’s development to say that there is only one path of development for everyone. This also relates to the nature-nurture issue in that the environment determines the type of person someone becomes. If one person grows up in New York city and another grows up in a small city in Florida, those two people had to develop on different paths to become the people that they are. These different environments shaped the way those people developed.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
