Tommaso’s research mostly revolves around the economics of digitization,quantitative marketing, and behavioral and experimental economics. His most recent research seeks tounderstand – through theory, large datasets, and experiments – how the internet is changing how wediscover and consume new products, as well as the potential biases in beliefs and perceptions that canarise in the process. His empirical work has focused on the arts industries. Tommaso earned a Bachelordegree in Mathematics from the University of Milan in 2011, a Master in Economics and Social Sciencesfrom Bocconi University in 2013, and a Ph.D. in Economics from NYU’s Stern School of Business in 2020,under the supervision of Luís Cabral. In the Spring of 2014, he was a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley’sHaas School of Business. He is the 2013 recipient of the Marco Fanno Scholarship, awarded yearly by theUnicredit & Universities Foundation to the two best Italian economists under the age of 25. His researchhas been most recently funded by the Russell Sage Foundation and the NET Institute.Ron Brachmanis the Director of the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute and a Professor of ComputerScience at Cornell University. He is responsible for the oversight of all Institute activities and programs,continuing to develop its vision and strategy and grow it into a completely new role model of innovationfor graduate education, while training new leaders who use deep science to change the world. Ronreceived his B.S.E.E. from Princeton University (1971), from which he graduatedSumma Cum LaudeandPhi Beta Kappa. He was captain of the Heavyweight Crew his senior year. He received his S.M. (1972)and Ph.D. (1977) degrees in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. His research specializationwas Artificial Intelligence, specifically, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, an area in which hewent on to become a world-renowned authority, authoring dozens of highly-cited research papers,17|Page
