accessed in the building by telephone company personnel and sometimes they can make mistakes and fiddle with the wrong wires. Also, copper wires all go back to the telephone company Central Office where disconnections can happen. Fiber is typically independent of the phone company, their equipment and their termination points. RE: Replacement of Fiber Cable.. Srikanth Kandala 11/12/2016 9:18:35 PM Yaa Saeed sir, Fiber optics are going to be the future of Internet connection in terms of Reliability, flexibility, complexity and speed too. As they have the said advantages over Copper cables and Cat cables.

Saeed Daboul 11/19/2016 9:34:33 PM Dear Srikanth on the same time we have some disadvantages for the fiber optics and here let me tell our classmates some of the disadvantages for it. Cost Cables are expensive to install but last longer than copper cables. Transmission transmission on optical fibre requires repeating at distance intervals. Fragile Fibres can be broken or have transmission loses when wrapped around curves of only a few centimeters radius. However by encasing fibres in a plastic sheath, it is difficult to bend the cable into a small enough radius to break the fibre. Protection Optical fibres require more protection around the cable compared to copper. RE: Replacement of Fiber Cable.. Reshma Ratnani 12/16/2016 11:30:37 PM Yes I agree with you. Fiber optics are the next future of internet there are many advantages as well of fiber optics some of them can be High bandwidth, optical fiber transmission distance advantage, and the most important is fiber optics are the most secured transmission This is due to the fact that there is no way to detect the data being transmitted by “listening in” to the electromagnetic signal as is possible with traditional copper, electronbased transmissions. RE: Replacement of Fiber Cable.. Gust Dimoulias 11/11/2016 8:10:03 PM Srikanth, Fiber can transmit and receive data quickly. Fiber pays for itself over the life of a network as fiber allows for an increase in bandwidth. I do agree that fiber is much more reliable than Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat7. RE: Replacement of Fiber Cable.. Srikanth Kandala 11/12/2016 9:09:49 PM Exactly Gust, fiber optics gonna be the future of Internet connection in terms of Reliability, flexibility, complexity and speed too.

Proper application of fiber optic technology will lead to highly reliable systems. That means the user must install an appropriate cable plant and test every component, all
