wages. These regulations, like layoffs, offer job security as teachers cannot be fired quickly. Trade unions protect teachers from mistreatment from administrators in schools. Teachers have valued assets to schools, but some cruel administrators bully their staffing staff. The teachers union, therefore, protect teachers from such administrators. The collective bargaining agreement protects teachers from ruthless administrators by providing regulations on evaluation as administrators may use the evaluation results to harass, intimidate, or bribe teachers. The third function is advocacy, which involves informing teachers of any updates and communication with politicians for the provision of funds, adequate classes, and healthcare coverage for children or students. Advocacy function is an indicator that teachers union are suitable for schools as they ensure schools get sufficient funds, educational materials like teaching guides and textbooks, and other necessities like counselors and nurses. Schools with strong teachers unions have more funds compared to schools with weak or no unions because the unions communicate and negotiate with politicians to provide specific resources. Teachers have tight schedules and sometimes fail to attend essential board meetings;; thus, it's the function of the union to inform them of the meeting agendas, what discussed, and the decision agreed on.

Teachers Unions 4 This function gives teachers more time to concentrate on students, thus improving student learning. Teachers union can be said to be good for schools because they provide professional development to its members. Teachers union offer various professional opportunities to teachers who improve education quality. In the United States, teachers in the national education association have the opportunity to attend workshops and access online educational research, which promotes their skills and expertise. The unions are good as they also provide monthly magazines and other articles with current educational issues that help teachers develop the right teaching strategies and ideas. The unions, mostly the national education association, provide teachers with opportunities to further their studies by, for example, offering scholarships and funding their education. These functions have a significant impact primarily to teachers but also to students (Baron, 2017). Teacher’s union relation to funding levels and funding fairness Teachers union through collective bargaining and advocacy negotiate for adequate school funds and also for rising salaries. Research conducted by various researchers shows that schools with stronger teachers union have more funding levels when compared to weak unions who have low funds. Schools with strong associations also have fair funding, unlike those with weak unions. Therefore, teachers' unions are goods to schools because they ensure that schools have adequate funding levels and equitable funding distribution. Due to this reason, unionized schools can accommodate students from low-income families as they charge low fees (Moe, 2016).
