His son happened to be one of the better players in the league but sadly acted the same way his father did. This player went into high school the next year with a bad rep already about being a problem for refs and he would only get T’d up more and be more problems for refs. This player saw his father as a role model and saw how his dad acted and figured he had to act the same way. A solution for this problem can get very complicated because parents and coaches are huge parts of youth sports because they are just kids. I feel that more states should pass the bill mandating penalties for people who assault sports officials like the Illinois Legislature has done. This is a good law because it will let people know what the consequences are for their actions. I also believe they not only need to enforce the law but they need to make it very well known. It should be discussed at every parent meeting before the season starts and even remind all parents and fans before every game with an announcement before the national anthem. Violence in youth sports is a very serious issue that needs to be addressed
