N4585 Capstone Instructions Each week, record your experiences, connections to your course goals, and reflections as they relate to the given prompts and/or your course project. You must record one entry each week, but may record more (insert rows as needed). You may find it helpful and rewarding to record one entry at the beginning of the week, think about the prompt during the week, then record another at the end of the week. For privacy, refer to patients, online colleagues, and/or co- workers with initials instead of names. Save this document to your own computer desktop or storage device after each entry to create a cumulative journal. You will upload the document and submit it each week by 0800 CST Friday following the course week. (You will not submit your Reflective Journal for Week 5 entries, but may continue to record entries for your own purposes.) Remember that the more thoughtfully and intentionally you record your immediate reflections, the easier it will be for you to pull all your experiences and thoughts together for your Journal Paper in Week 5. Module Journal Entries A separate Journal entry is required for Modules 1-6 by 2359 Saturday of each indicated module. Provide details of your thinking, including insights, challenges, paradigm shifts, and goals. Identify previous course topics, readings, or research that relate to the prompt. Journal Entry Module 1: Identify 3 key points form this module. Reflect on how why each point is important, how it impacts on your work experience or nursing practice, and how will you change your practice in the future based on each key area. Key Point 1 Interests and Strengths, as I reviewed the work completed in previous courses to help guide me in a focus area I reviewed the materials from my nursing leadership course. In practice everyday at work in our cardiac ICU I see horrific waste in supply usage and in considering areas for a capstone project considered looking outside my comfort zone to strengthen my skills in an area of practice I may not have the opportunity to work on again. I have a strong financial and math skills and could use this area of strength even though management isn’t a particular area of interest for future career pursuit, but could have a positive impact on current practice. Key Point 2 Career Planning and Goal Setting, in selecting a capstone I looked towards the present and the future, what and I doing and where do I want to be doing, and what will it take to get to that point. In an ideal world I will continue on in the FNP program after completing my BSN, I have already been accepted, and complete the additional requirements for a MS in Nursing Education. I would like to see myself in 5 years having finished these programs and continuing to work at the bedside, most likely part time, while working as a clinical instructor for a local nursing program and possible at a clinic part time as a FNP. In 10 years my kids will all be graduated from high school, and I would like to be living back in Hawaii,

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
