Study Abroad Students/Students Taking the Course from Remote LocationsIt is important if you are taking this course from another city or are participating in a studyabroad program that you let us know during the first week of the semester. We will then makespecial arrangements such as setting up a proctored exam with study abroad program officials orother trusted agency. What is Covered in the ExamsContent covered in the exams includes everything covered from anywhere in the e-Text. Therewill also be critical reasoning questions based on concepts presented there. These will bethinking questions which cannot be simple “looked up” – rather, you will need to be able to thinkthrough to the logical, best answer. The exam will be open book but students must work alone.Evidence of working with others or sitting next to others while taking exams can result in failinggrades. What You Cannot Use or DoYou cannot use any electronic sources of information such as notes in Word or electronic onlinedictionaries. If you move to an electronic source while taking an exam, iLearn® will show thatand you will receive a zero on the exam, which means failing the course. Other than looking atthe e-Text in Mylab, once opened you must not leave the exam window in iLearn®.Do notcheck any online sources, documents or lectures. You must have only the exam window openand stay there until you complete the exam once started. The only exception is the Mylab E-textwhich you may use during exams but nothing else. Even if you keep the exam open, you are notallowed to look at anything else electronically. For example, if iLearn® access reports indicateyou had the exam open but were going to other sections of iLearn® to review forum posts, links ,study guides – anything but the exam itself and the E-text – you will be given a zero for thatexam with no recourse for a make-up. Please pay very careful attention to this, as some students will invariably try to look aroundelectronically and will have their scores changed to a zero as a result, arguing that they alwayshad the quiz open. Do not lose your exam score this way. It is your responsibility to followthese guidelines. To ensure exams are taken properly, we reserve the right to require ANY student, or group ofstudents, to take ANY exam in person, supervised by a member of the IBUS 330 staff. If youare asked to come in for this purpose and refuse or delay doing so, this is grounds for failing theexam in question and the course.
