CLLOll Performance Based Logistics Lesson 1 - Introduction to PBL Table of Contents Summary Performance Based Logistics ( also commonly referred to as Performance Based Life Cy cle Product Support and PBL ) is an outcome-based product support strateg y for the devel opment and im pl ementat ion of an int egrated , affordable , product support package designed to opt imize sy stem readiness and meet the W arfighter 's requirements in terms of performance outcomes for a weapon sy stem through l ong-term product support arrangements w ith cl ear lines of authority and responsibility. This lesson presented the PBL defin iti on, polic y, basic tenets , and linkage to the Product Support Business Model ( PSBM ) and the 12-step Product Support Strateg y Process Model.
