Devil’s Advocate ThinkingDevil’s advocate it is a decision-making technique that allows one to critic the proposed decisions. This technique is important because it assists in preventing groupthink and brings out the best decision. It also helps the businesses avoid making high costly and risky decisions. It focuses more on the evidence and brings out the higher quality decision. I would say the 3-solutions that is see most potential in resolving the problem would be:changing the process of VAS department, automatize and auditIC interfering with VAS and produce the right labels for the right unitPicking department train a special team to handle when this problem occurs. Starting with the first one I think that this solution has the highest potential to solve the problem because it will mostly benefit the company in the long run and will generate new revenues. It is true that this process will take some time to adjust and make VAS department to be monitored and automized, but this will bring o lot of more benefits to otherdepartments and to the company as a whole. The only thing that could possibly go wrong when special project come during the peak season near Christmas where Bath and Body products are to be sent to VAS closely monitoring up to 2 million units per day would be challenging. Workplace Problem11directors might find this process a little difficult, but the good thing is that this process has been though before to make VAS department more efficient. Next, IC interfering with VAS and produce right labels would be a good idea, will cost less money, but will cost time. IC would have to increase its team and train more people to produce labels in WMS and transfer them to VAS. I think this solution might be implemented because it is less expensive and helpful at the same time. The people that couldresist this plan would be the supervisor and manager of IC because it will make them get outof their daily plan and consume operations time, which is very important. Next, picking department has to create and train a specialized team that deal with thethird floor, especially with the bulky items that come from VAS. They need to reassure that everything is fine, and the right items are labeled correctly and are in the accurate spot beingready to be picked by the picker. The weakness is that it will cost time and money to the operation and the supervisor has to take out from the floor people in order to train them for this specific prosses. This will bring unsatisfactory team members why somebody else was picked to do this process and them not. This process can’t be trusted to all people yet, so thissill bring confusion on the floor. The supervisor will be the first one to disagree because of these reasons mentioned above.
