N4455 Nursing Leadership and Management Within the next 5 years, my goal is to return to UTA to complete courses to achieve by MSN. From now to the next 25 years, my goal is to become a nurse educator, complete education to become a nurse anesthesiologist, and work in Texas Children’s hospital, while also having my personal life goals to be a happy and well settled wife and mother of at least 2 children. Specific Strategies Identify specific strategies for accomplishing your goals. Give specific examples for accomplishing your goals, including resources and major intermediate steps. To complete education, I plan to stay with UTA, continue taking courses to earn my Masters in Nursing. I will do this by taking advantage of the education program reimbursement that my job provides to help my way through school, while also being employed. Having a family of support, a second work family that has been through and can give me assurance and guidance are all effective strategies in becoming successful in reaching my goals. Also, having a husband who is also a nurse, and willing to join the road to success with me to tackle the road to achieve MSN together, is a accomplishment that we both strive for in the future. Priority of Goals Explain how the priority of your goals is consistent with your statements of values. Explain how your goals are congruent with each other and with your values. My goals will be consistent because I have come this far in my career by being aggressive to achieve my RN. I am strongly pushing my way through, gaining more knowledge and critical thinking skills needed on a daily basis as I learn great things every day at work. I am very organized and learning to become a good communicator, great patient advocate, respectful to all individuals, and passionate in the care I give to others. I love to see my patients smile and tell me that they have been handled and taken care of diligently. My priority as a nurse is to maintain a safe environment and treat patients as I would treat my family. And my priority as a normal human being is to be a loving and caring wife and mother to my future children, and exceptional daughter to my parents and in-laws. ©2015 University of Texas at Arlington Page 8 of 9
