My work ethic also relates to Wooden’s Success Pyramid in several ways. I have always taken the initiative in my career goals. As Wooden puts it, failure is the lack of acting ("Official Site of Coach Wooden sponsored by McDonald's," n.d.). Any project or portion of a project that I was responsible for it was important to set an example for the other members of the team to follow suit. It is necessary that Managers lead by example and willingly have others want to follow, in addition them meeting their own goals (Lewis, 2003, p. 54) Therefore, a major part of my work ethic was always being the person that I would want to follow and appreciating those that contribute along the way. Lastly alertness, confidence and skill relate and have contributed to my drive for success. Exhibiting a Guardian type leadership style, I have always been concerned about doing the right thing even if it was not the popular thing to do. Alertness has contributed to this because it enables to be aware of what is occurring around me and to notice the important facts in any situation.
