Having SSTBs excluded from taking the 199A deduction is due to them not economically boosting the economy as well as a qualified business would. An accountant would help a person or a business with their finances, but it would not help put more resources or money into the economy as well as a small fishing company would. The SSTBs listed also include some of the wealthiest fields of work. Below is a list of the 25 highest-paying jobs in America, the work field they are a part of, and their median annual salary [ CITATION Con18 \l 1033 ]. 1. Physician – Health - $195,842 2. People who work in the performing arts, such as actresses and actors, the athletic department, and influencers who use their personal brand for advertisements make millions of dollars per year. Having a set list of SSTBs that specifically target the people who make the most amount of money annually not only excludes some of the wealthiest people in the country, but also some of the people who do the least to contribute to the country’s national economy. An accountant, who is excluded from the Section 199A deduction, would need formal education that would help a college with their business, and upon work the accountant would be available to be hired by a company to help organize and understand their complicated finances. The accountant would receive pay from the company, but wouldn’t be boosting the economy to the same effect their employer would. The company, which will be assumed to be a fishing company, would help boost the economy by manufacturing their own fishing equipment, hiring employees to help with the manufacturing process, and then selling the fishing equipment to consumers. This would also increase a competitive market within the fishing market, which would require other prospective and current fishing companies to be more innovative with their products in order to be more appealing to consumers.
