You have been quoted as saying that Nelson Mandela is the person you admire most in the world, what have you learnt from him? "Empathy, humility, forgiveness, the power of conciliation and the need to give back. We are currently working with Nelson Mandela and his wife to set up an organisation called The Elders, through which Iwill recruit and fund 12 non- politicians to examine and help in solving issues that politicians don't like to touch; such as global warming and HIV/Aids in South Africa." You have said that most businesses fail, so what is your advice to entrepre- neurs? "Ifyou're looking to succeed; it has to be about more than simply making money. Ideally, since 80% of your life is spent working, your business should be shaped on that which you're passionate about. You'll know more about your business and you'll work harder at it. Look, ifyou could indulge in your passion, wouldn't life be far more interesting than simply working to earn aliving. But, you must educate yourself on whatever it is that you've decided to do... That's where the work What is your message to South African entrepreneurs?
