deeply affected her future relationships with others. Yet through all the heartbreaks she experienced, she still was able give her love to one last guy. The whole point of Marjane coming to Austria was to seek a better life but when she finds out how hard it is to adapt to a new lifestyle she dosen’t know if she can handle it. After escaping from the controlling politics of Iran and the war that just began, she has to start her new life in a new country that was very different to her own. She soon realizes that Austria isn’t as bad as it is in Iran. Yes her life is bad in Austria but it could be worse. With this thought in mind she goes back to Iran and realizes that her life doesn't belong there. Thus, she decides to make a new life in France. The theme in Persepolis 2 is demonstrated in a excellent positive message and encourages the message of how life isn’t as bad as it seems through plot development ,
characterization and lastly the setting. This theme is important because it teaches people that it is ok to struggle in life. Life is meant to be hard and how you overcome the difficulties in life determines who you are; not the failures you've encountered. This book has touched on the topic of discrimination, xenophobia, prejudice, depression, disabilities, and lastly third world problems. It is a very inspiring book that not only uplifts people but educates them too. Work cited page Satrapi, Marjane. Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return . New York: Pantheon, 2004. Print.
