NEGLIGENT TORT 5 In a case involving negligence, this causation relates to the perpetrator's responsibility scope (Findlaw, 2018). An offender in such a case is only liable for the harm that he or she would have foreseen through their actions. A complainant needs to show that an offender's actions were the proximate cause of the damages caused by proving that the harm was within the scope of the risks that the offender could have foreseen. Therefore, any individual who would have complained about the bodysuits would prove proximate cause by showing that the company could have predicted the danger that these outfits posed. Actual Injury In negligence cases, complainants have to prove that they were legally harmed. A customer, in this case, has to indicate that a snap has chocked a baby. Standard of Care Alstyle Company would have been found guilty if a customer was harmed and it was identified that it neglected the proper standard of care while processing the goods. This would mean that it was not as careful a "reasonable person" is expected to be for example by following all the standards set for manufacturing children's body suits.
