3. For models of real projects, it is advisable to choose the length of the segments between control points in proportion to the estimated time ratios between the stages. If the actual execution time of the stage does not correspond to the ratios in the diagram, then this indicates at a work planning error: either the preliminary estimate or the pace of work was unsatisfactory. This leads to another possible stumbling point: terms and cost may increase in the future. Thus, a good model can be considered as an important planning tool.
01.04.2019CS 2401 - AY2019-T3: Week 4 Discussion Question The problem with speci±cation language is not that it is impossible (or di³cult) to strictly and clearly describe the requirements of the project, but rather the need to achieve and maintain the correspondence with an often fuzzy, imprecise and contradictory description of the requirements from the people external to the project. There is no reason to believe that these people will be familiar with “the best speci±cation language”, nor that they will care about the correctness of their requirements. The task of the speci±cation stage is to build a program description in the form of a coherent system that will be understandable for both the client, future users, and project executors. I agree that, without a context model, the input and output of the system may be incorrectly described and handled. Best wishes with your graded quiz! 01.04.2019CS 2401 - AY2019-T3: Week 4 Discussion Question 32/34The two common errors that could arise if software engineers do not understand the system context are;1)They will not be able to see a clear view of the actual application, therefore, they might miss something or some feature and as a result the application would not function well.2)The software will end up not meeting the standards of the client and it might turn out something di²erent than what the buyer wanted.
