List and discuss at least two objectives of preventive maintenance (PM)programs? Use these objectives to discuss and illustrate the importance ofpreventive maintenance (PM) programs. There are a number of different reasons why a preventative maintenanceprogram might make sense for an organization. One goal of preventativemaintenance is to improve the overall reliability of a system or piece ofequipment or machinery. If you have machinery breaking down all of the time, you would want to find a way to make it more reliable. Another is to decreasethe cost of replacement or repair. You might spend several thousand dollarsreplacing the engine, but with a preventative maintenance program, you mightonly have to replace a part of the engine, or you might not have to replace it atall. Preventative maintenance program can help to discover and repairproblems before they occur. Being able to identify problems early can helpyou plan a repair during off peak hours of during a scheduled shut down. Thiswill also help with assembly line workers stay productive and not having towait for equipment to be repaired.A major part of my office’s responsibility is to manage and performpreventative maintenance. We have found that if we keep up a goodpreventative maintenance program, we have less calls through out the dayfrom customers. This can be anything from the internet is not working to theheating and cooling in the building. With less urgent issues we are able towork on more preventative methods. This in turn helps with are customer’ssatisfaction.Nicholas CluffThread:Cluff Preventive maintenance #10Post:RE: Cluff Preventive maintenance #10Author:Posted Date:February 26, 2016 9:06 AMStatus:PublishedHi Nicholas,Nice job on the weekly post.
