adjective. I never used to use “word” as part of my vocabulary until I started spending time with my friend who always used it. He would always say things like “word” and “solid”, another term to describe satisfaction, and before I knew it it had become one of my top choices of exclamations. Ironically, I used to make fun of my friend when he would say it. Little did I know, I would be victim to its use soon enough. I find the slang term “word” to be very convenient. There are so many circumstances where it is the best way to express my feelings. It is so simple, yet says so much. Obviously its meaning is only significant when I say it around those who are familiar with its use. When I let it slip around my parents they just give me a confused look and ask me what I mean. so used to saying it, I find it humorous when my parents do not get it. Meanwhile, when I say it around friends my own age, no one thinks twice about it, they know exactly what I mean by it. During my Freshman and Sophomore years of high school my friends and I would throw around the word “dope”. “Dope” was another way to say awesome or good. It also could be used to describe an attractive person. For example instead of saying, “that guy is so hot”, we would say “that guy is dope”. I cannot remember exactly when I started using “dope” as a normal word,
