Operationalize Variables Depression, anxiety, stress, and age are specified as the operationalize variables as they can directly impact the mental health status of the adolescent population. 3) Describe the tasks that participants will be asked to perform including a step-by-step description of the procedures you plan to use with your subjects. Provide the approximate duration of subject participation for each procedure/ instrument and the frequency and setting of each administration. Identify any personnel who will assist with data collection. ***You must submit a copy of each study instrument, including all questionnaires, surveys, protocols for interviews, etc. ***If someone will be assisting with data collection, but is not indicated as a co-investigator or research assistant in this application (i.e. they will be accessing archival data for you) you must submit a letter of approval indicating that they are willing and capable to assist. Research Design Quasi-experimental research design will be utilized for the research study. The quasi-experimental research design seeks to establish a cause-effect relationship between two or more variables ( Thyer, 2012) . The research problem focused on the Page 9 of 18

The theoretical framework specified for this research study is the Transcultural theory of nursing and it will help to determine the value of culture among the mental health of the adolescents ( McFarland & Wehbe-Alamah, 2014) . 4) Describe the recruitment procedures. Explain who will approach potential participants and take part in the research study and what will be done to protect the individual’s privacy in this process. ***You must submit a copy of any material used to recruit subjects (e.g., informed consent forms, advertisement, flyers, telephone scripts, verbal recruitment scripts, cover letters, etc.) The students of Adrian High School will be approached for participating in the research. The study will be based on selecting 80 participants from Adrian High School belonging to the age range of 14 to 18 years. Random sampling will be used as the sampling method for this research study. The research design is suitable for the research as all the participants will have an equal chance of selection. The sample accurately reflects the population as identified in the problem or purpose statement because the adolescent population is the focus of this research study as the participants can be easily selected through random sampling who belong to the adolescent age group. The sample size is appropriate as it will reflect the prognosis of mental illness among the adolescent population. The sample size is not too small that it can limit the identification of the condition ( Thyer, 2012) . The population can be generalized based on the presence of the disease regardless of the gender of the participants.
