In 1927, the Jacob’s Wind Factory opened, which produced wind generators that are used in farms to charge batteries and power lightening. In 1941, the worlds first megawatts wind turbine was built in Castleton, Vermont. In 1880, the world first wind farm of 20 turbines was built in New Hampshire. In the early 2000’s, the renewable energies were encouraged, which resulted in the rise of use of wind power. In 2009, the world's first deep-water floating wind turbine was built in the North Sea off Norway. Today, wind power covers 4% of the US electricity generation (as shown in Figure 1). Wind power is beneficial for the economy, yet it has some impacts. Wind farms contribute to the economic development in the rural communities that is in charge of them. Wind energy reduce the amount of use of fossil fuels. The increase in demand in wind energy, increases the supply of turbines and their components which benefits the manufacturing sector. Wind turbines are available in different sized which allows people and businesses to use them. On the other hand, wind power is not a constant or reliable source of energy and they depend on the force of wind. Wind farms does not provide enough electricity for a big number of homes. The construction, installation, and maintenance of wind turbines are very expensive.

Alhomaid 9Wind power is considered environmental friendly renewable energy, but it has some challenges. Wind power does not emit greenhouse gases. It contribute to less air and water pollution. Wind turbines each takes a little space of land, meaning that the land below can still be available for use, and that they can share space for other uses like farming. On the other hand, the construction of large wind turbines can be a threat to the wildlife nearby. Also, wind turbines manufacture produce some pollution. Wind turbines also produces a lot of noise which is disturbing for the people around. The turbine blades can also kill some of the birds flying by. Wind farms are considered to cause aesthetic pollution. Although, wind power is considered better for the environment, and safer compares to some of the other sources. Wind power is expecting many developments in the technology. Wind turbines have been improved a lot. They come with different number of blades and different sizes. The efficiency of wind turbines is between 30% to 45%. There are many research done in this area, and many new technologies are being built. Some examples of future wind power technologies are: airborne wind turbines, power from low speed winds, bladeless wind Power, wind turbine lenses, vertical axis turbines, quiet wind turbines. As demonstrated, there is a focus in developing wind energy since it is considered an environmentally friendly energy source. Solar: Solar power is the use of sunlight to generate electricity. 700 BC sunlight was used to make a fire with magnifying glasses. 212 BC the greek used solar energy to fire up and destroy the enemies ships. In 1767, the first oven that use solar energy was invented. In 1839, the
