CONSULTATIVE CHANGE Nurse Leader Interview Summary The nurse we interviewed was the supervisor nurse at the surgical department in the hospital. Apart from giving us a highlight of what the hospital has done and is doing to help them in the medical sector, she as able to give us a review on the roles of the nurse that is required of her and other nurses in the hospital. He was able to provide us with the characteristic o the organization and how this organization was working to improve on its services. Nurse leader role A nurse is a hospital or a medical facility employee who works to help the doctors and other senior medical employees in carrying their medical partitioning duties smoothly by preparing the patients, making preparation of the medical kits and other assistance such that the doctor will have a smooth time doing his duties (Denker et al. 2015). Nurse leaders are the senior nurses in charge of the other nurses and have a different role from the other nurses. The following are some of the major roles of a nurse leader. They design to evaluate and coordinate the delivery care for individuals, groups, families, and populations hence. They use the available data for the patient and use it accordingly to achieve the best patient outcomes. They use the available information technology system to help improve health care outcomes. They advocate for the health care team, community and the patients to help their need to be catered for. 5

CONSULTATIVE CHANGE They collaborate with health care professionals to help provide good leadership to the whole healthcare facility. Characteristics of the organization The Jackson, the memorial is a hospital that is nonprofitable and also provides both medical care and medical teachings to the people and students. It is non-profit-making hospital meaning that its interest is not making a profit but offering services. It is supported by the federal government and the state government ensuring that t does not run out of funds to provide the services (Denker et al. 2015). Having a university near, the hospital has enough human resources from the students graduating from the medical institution to come for an internship in the institution. This helps the organization to provide more services since it has people to train and also people to offer assistance. The organization has improved its services much including providing assistance to people hence being a reliable medical institution. Recommendation for the organization Jackson Memorial is not a perfect institution, and hence there are some areas where it needs to improve to provide quality services to the people. We are going to look at the recommendation for the change (Zingg et al. 2015). The rationale and the measure to be taken to ensure there is effective implementation of the recommendations made. Recommendation Cancer being an international pandemic that is costing a lot of peoples lives and also being very expensive to cure, Jackson memorial has not invested heavily in the required technology to fight this pandemic. There is a need to acquire the technology needed to treat san and detect and treat this disease. There is also a need to train more doctors in the medical 6
