this program obtaining and retaining the theories and knowledge needed to stay abreast to current changes and improvements in the field of higher education determines the level of my expertise. Remaining relevant in the field of higher education is imperative to my future endeavors and aspirations of becoming a School Leader. Throughout the matriculation process the Scholar -Practitioner experiences the following seven components: experientialism, andragogy, adult learning, theory and research, experiential learning, graduate and profession education. Thompson (2007) indicates that “the change leader must build trust with open communication supporting followers through transitions as changes are implemented” (p.1). Communication is imperative throughout the matriculation process of becoming a scholar-practitioner. The Ed.D program at Capella utilizes communication effectively throughout the program as the program is virtual and requires in-depth collaboration and communication.
