It will be important to ensure that staff understand the new roles and have the knowledge and tools to carry them out. We can help reduce resistance to change by ensuring that staff understand the reasons for change and agree that change is needed. To help staff accept the changes ensure that they understand that these new practices offer strategies for providing high-quality care for patients. Identify and minimize practical barriers to using the new practices, such as resources available for introduction and implementation of practice change. At all levels, engage staff to gain their support and buy-in to the improvement effort. (Bardsley et al., 2016). Therefore, understanding the healthcare system at the local level will enable one to pick an EBP topic for implementation that can be easily adopted by users. In order to make an EBP change in my unit, I will need the assistance of the management and the practice committees in order to have these changes accepted. Once a need has been identified, research on updated EBP suggestions can be submitted to management. At my facility we have access to electronic resources for EBP. My preceptor is very supportive of the venture that I am undertaking and is offering to help me get in touch with the available resources to make it a reality, as well as assisting me get access to nursing that will help me execute my project.
