often, the use of antibiotics, poor nutrition, inflammation, stress and other factors can affect the helpful bacteria in the intestine (Rindfleisch, 2008). Some of the bacteria that can be found in the human intestine include: Bifidobacterium Longum: this is found in the large amount in the intestine especially in the infants. They help in protecting the human by releasing the several acids that intoxicate the environment to many virulent bacteria. They help in preventing issue like constipation and diarrhea. Bacteroides thetaiotamicron: The bacteria allow for easy break down and digestion of plant food molecules in the gastric intestine tract. Naturally humans will not be able to digest the plant food on their own. Lactobacillus Johnsonii: These bacteria are very vital in digestive process of milk in the intestine. It is critical in the infants who are constantly on milk food. Escherichia Coli: This is responsible for the synthesis of vitamin K in human intestine. The Vitamin K is essential for the blood clotting and other purposes. They also help in food digestion by using up nutrient that some harmful bacteria need to live. Viridans Streptococci: These bacteria are found in the throat and they are vital in the digestive movement. They give not room for other harmful bacteria to grow and colonize the digestive tract (Coscia, 2012). CONCLUSION When the normal microbial population in intestine is disrupted, there is a tendency for harmful bacteria to set in and colonize leading to infection and disease. This however happened especially if Bifidobacterium Longum bacteria are in short supply. It is therefore advisable to apply the use of food supplement that are specifically produce to supply them back to normal state in the intestine. REFERENCE
