created in the image of God—with the dignity, purpose, and value that comes with that—and fallen. This explains the unique and wonderful aspects of human nature, but it also explains why humans cannot get it right. Topic 4 moved the question of Jesus where we find that he is the key to understanding the nature and will of God and the nature and destiny of man. He is both the revelation of God’s nature and plan and the perfect image of God (cf. Colossians 1:15 with Genesis 1:26-31). In Topic 5, we move the implications of these convictions for our understanding of salvation in the Christian worldview. Every worldview has a kind of salvation story even if it is not called as such. For example, atheism, while not believing in salvation as an afterlife, still has some notion that humanity faces problems, and it offers solutions whether through scientific discovery and advances or education. What is the Christian view of salvation? Here is your checklist for the week.
