Assessment details 3.1 Requirements for completion of subject In order to be eligible to pass this subject you must obtain a total score of at least 50% taking into account the cumulative weighted scores that you achieve in the four assessment tasks as identified below in section 3.3. Students in this subject are also required to attempt all assessment tasks that have been assigned a weighting of 20% or above. This means that students who do not sit the subject’s mid-term test or final exam and those students that do not contribute to their group’s Wiki site will NOT be eligible to pass this subject unless alternative arrangements with respect to the relevant assessment item have been authorised by the lecturer. It is important to be aware that assessment “is always subject to final ratification following the examination period and that no single result represents a final grade in a subject” (Learning, Teaching and Assessment Policy 5.22.). 3.2 Feedback on student learning Every attempt will be made to have all assessment pieces marked, graded and returned within three weeks of their submission date [dependant on the lecturer’s workload commitments at the time and the availability of marking assistants in those instances in which marking assistance is utilised]. Feedback in the form of your receiving your mark for the Mid Semester Test should be provided within seven days of your having sat the test [subject to the lecturer’s workload commitments at the time]. 3.3 Assessment Tasks This subject consists of three on course assessment tasks [an essay, a mid-semester test, and a group based assignment completed using the LearnJCU Wiki based platform]. The subject’s assessment also includes a 2 ½ hour end of semester exam which will be scheduled to occur during the university’s official end of semester examination period . The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
