A book review published by Wicker in 1996 makes a fair point and was chosen as a source to guide this review because as mentioned, McPherson went to great lengths to provide accurate information to prove the importance of history and how important it is to understand it. It is also apparent that James McPherson’s extensive literacy on the American Civil War throughout chapter one’s essays. Another review claims that McPherson is pro-north all the way through the compilation of essays, while this review will say that McPherson was very fair and balanced through chapter one. In agreement with the conclusion of both reviews, it is fair to say that McPherson’s knowledge on the American Civil War is extensive and his points hit throughout are significant.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
