With the increasing threat of having customer’s personal information compromised, it is necessary to install up to date key pads in each location. At this time, the cashier handles the credit or debit card for each purchase and the customer enters their PIN number on the keypad which little privacy. The keypads should be updated in order to be ready for future credit and debit cards with an embedded chip in them. This system is used throughout Europe as well as other countries. With a chip card the user inserts the card into the machine and then enters their PIN number and the machine reads the chip and matches the PIN number with the card the card stays in the machine during this process (Steves, 2014). This process would also eliminate the possibility of a customer walking away, and the cashier could fail to give them back their card. Ultimately, it is my recommendation that the accounting information system which has been designed for the company is going to serve the current needs as well as future needs for the company.
