cultivated land by human-made waste products, more and more waste is chosen to be dumped into the sea. Even in the oceans of the earth, there are patches of human plastic waste accumulation areas, which are produced from all over the world and gather together under the action of ocean currents. The social problem that we have chosen is to focus on is plastic damage. Which refers to the pollution of petroleum-based plastics on a massive scale. In particular we want to focus on finding a solution for Australia in particular. Due to the recent issues in the media and the ongoing damage that needs to be dealt with. We consider this social problem as important as it if we do not change our actions towards this issue now, it will affect our futures to a great extent. When plastic is sent to landfills to be incinerated they do not just disappear. It can take up to 500 years for various types of disposals to decompose, this issue is greater than our generation and will affect many more generations to come. Plastic wastes are persistent, man-made or processed solid wastes in the Marine and coastal environment. Marine garbage affects the Marine landscape, threatens the safety of navigation, and has an impact on the health of the Marine ecosystem, thereby producing negative effects on the Marine economy. Some of the Marine debris stays on the beach, while others float or sink to the bottom. The correct understanding of the sources of Marine wastes and the reduction of the amount of Marine wastes at the source will help to reduce the impact of Marine wastes on Marine ecological environment. And there are 3.76 billion bags in dumped in Australia every year. Australia has always had a plastic problem, since most of the waste affects the ocean around them. This social problem interests us greatly as the irresponsible disposal of waste will eventually affect the entire world around us. It affects the environment in which we live, it affects the water in which we drink, the food we eat, the resources we use to create and the future generations that will inhabit the earth. Australians produce 64 million tons of waste every year, 60% of which is recycled. We are trying to reduce plastic pollution and get a better living environment for now and for next generations. Overview of your Innovative Business Solution: The solution we chose to pitch was a company focused on reusable plastic, this was multi-pronged. the first prong was to take advantage of the new government legislation in the area of Single Use plastic bags ( Sustainability Victoria 2019) , as such we formulated a product of reusable plastic bags to place in the chain convenience stores. Secondly, we focused in on reusable coffee cups, as coffee cups are one of the largest landfill items today with 1 billion cups used each year in Victoria alone each year.
