though it depend on the person on whether or not they follow what is the pop culture of
now. Although I also feel as though everyone does or has some pop culture because
everyone has that need to be accepted by others and the easiest way to do that is to have
some of the same objects. Almost everyone judges someone else on what he or she has
and what he or she wears. To some people it is hard to give acceptance when someone is
different then they are. Pop culture makes people form around it. It can manipulate
people into buying what they want them to buy and acting how they want them to act.

Pop culture controls populations better than anything else. It has made woman become
anorexic and slutty. It has controlled the fashions of people. Back in the old days when
women wore corsets and petticoats no matter how foolish some of the styles were it was
sociably acceptable.
Pop culture uses commercials and subliminal messages to get their costumers to
buy their products. They get actors and actresses to use their products in movies and TV
shows. They will have an actor or actress hold a bag of chips a certain way so that the
brand name will show up on the camera. People will buy what they see and people have a
lot of wants. We are a greedy sort of creature. It is in our nature to want what we do not
need. If a popular celebrity wears a certain style of clothes then people will try to mimic
that style or I they are that rich they will go out and buy that brand. Magazines help
promote this by showing how to get the look for less. Everyone wants to fit into some
group, even the people that feel as though they do not want to fit in still end up fitting in
with a specific group. The easiest way to do so is to have a certain style. Having a higher
class style shows that you have money and in turn gives you power over people that can
not afford the item. It is a way of controlling people. By showing that you have more
money it is easier to get respect from people then if you look like you are lower class and
have less money. People automatically make judgments about others at first glance that is
why the saying first impressions are so important is always used. Styles come and go and
it’s expensive to keep up with all of them. For example technology moves like crazy.
There is always another phone coming out and it’s usually not worth buying until the next
one comes out just because they come out like every other month what is the point of
getting the newest technology when you can get the better one next month. People spend

a ton of money keeping up with all the new stuff coming out so it’s not just the fashion
industry that is making money but the technology and housing industries that are making
money too because people want more modern stuff.
Pop culture affects how people act and what they own. Whatever is popular at
them time it is almost like people do not have a choice but to follow the trends.
Sometimes they are good things to be a part of like having a specific bag that you like but
sometimes they are bad like when girls have eating disorder because they are trying to be
model thin
