8 Device Usage No texting during class. But, for the purpose of learning, I will ask you to use your device to participate in certain in-class activities. Otherwise, all electronic devices must be turned off or muted before entering the classroom. Points will be deducted for repeat offenders. Build a Rapport If you have any trouble keeping up with the pace of class, completing your assignments, have difficulty studying for quizzes (or have failed them) or if you have concerns about other aspects of the course, make sure to let me know as soon as possible. Make certain that you are proactive in informing me when difficulties arise so that we can address the issue as early as possible and find a solution. In Conversation (aka Oral Presentation) During the semester, on a select date, you will lead the class in a discussion of a film, topic or theme that interests you. The topic of your conversation (linked to a film, theme or filmmaker associated with this course) will be decided beforehand in consultation with your professor. I will guide you on how best to present the topic of discussion. You may present either in-person, during one of our Monday meetings, or online. If you choose the online option, select portions of your video will be shown in class followed by a question and answer segment.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
