- Again, it's all filmed on-location. It still looks like that today even though this film's 10 years old. It still pretty much looks the same. - depicted in the film is the poverty that's still quite rampant in South Africa. - Unemployment is through the roof, social stratification that was started as apartheid is still quite in place but now it's increasing wealth disparity. - Ultra-rich next to ultra-poor that is defining modern South Africa and is probably the point of this film.

He then ran away - His side was the top row left corner - He named the baby David - Work winter and never came back, after 5pm, got murdered. Outro: when they're going into the subway station for the first time actually near the beginning - banner about HIV/AIDS. - South Africa does have one of the worst infection rates on planet Earth - Something on the order of 20% of the population has been infected with HIV/AIDS. What do you think was the deal with his mother and father? - The filmmaker is likely suggesting that the mother was dying of AIDS and that's why the father may have been either upset or was very hands-off, certainly very angry, didn't want the kids to get near him Why was Tsotsi abandoned? - The father himself was a fairly nasty brutish guy who because of his demeanor probably drove Tsotsi away from his dying mother and from his father as well which is why he ends up an orphan.
