Ho Kyun’s Life & work Ho Kyun was born in 1569 into all illustrious Yangban family which had a long tradtion of government service His early career in government service was quite successful However, he became involved with a group of men who dissatisfied with the inequalitiesof Choson society Many illegitimate sons hide their identities They formed a dissonant group, In 1608 group of ill sons who were close friends of Hokyun made a formal request to be allowed to enter government service After this attempt to persuade the king they started to make plans for a revolt with Ho Kyun as their leader After several setbacks the plot was uncovered in 1618 and most of the rebels were executed including Ho Kyun Social Criticism Ho kyun social criticism is demonstrated in his work, “Homin Non” or “The theory of the People’s Power”.
