MAYTE’S SECOND SCENARI O Mayte has had to schedule an emergency session with her therapist. Her anxiety is at an all-time high due to her stressors at work. The district has been within the school building and her principal has been adding more pressure to her duties as a paraprofessional. Mayte is also worrisome about requesting a leave of absence due to her mom’s health, which has taken a turn for the worse. She has had to remain strong for her younger siblings and father during this time and everyone is looking to her for comfort. Sleep deprivation is an understatement; Mayte has stated that hallucinations have begun occurring as well as weight gain from her eating habits. Mayte has had to acknowledge that she may lose her mother and she now feels that there is no longer a need for her and is now wondering if things will be better if she was no longer here.
