Explain the activities that support these areas of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Use the literature provided in course resources and/or outside resources to support your reasoning for each strategy. I choose using graphic organizers because it show the understanding aspect of Bloom’s Taxonomy. In order for students to successfully complete the graphic organizer they must first understand what is being asked of them. By integrating text and visual imagery, the graphic organizers actively engage a wide variety of learners, including students with special needs and English language learners. (McKnight, 2011) The discussion\questioning allows the students to listen to their peers and analyze (Bloom’s Taxonomy) what they are saying. It provides students who may not have had an understanding of what the theme was, a more clear understanding. © Laureate Education, Inc. 10
How will you group students for instruction (individual, small group, large group, or whole class)? Explain your rationale. Students will be in groups of 5. The lesson will start as a whole class lesson. Then students will break off into small groups of 5 to discuss the theme of the story. They will then work individually to complete the assignment. 3. Their reading journals will allow them to keep notes and use to refer back to. The technology is important so that each student can have the story in front of them. They could refer back to the story to find text evidence and determine the theme.
