the witnessing of the devastation that was brought on to families. Since that time, there have been various historical developments which have fed my personal biases. I continue to teach on a military installation and am affiliated with several military and veteran organizations. Just as the Russians were targets of military (and national) disdain during the 1980s, individuals with Arab ancestry experience this discrimination today. To counter this prejudice, I enrolled in a religion course to better acquaint myself with the similarities that I share with members of this population rather than a continued focus on the differences. Continued education- formal as well as personal exposure, I believe will make me better equipped to serve this community. The second area of challenge related to this population can also be addressed through information. Arab Americans are a collection of various groups; just as Native Americans are comprised of members of different nations and tribal councils. It is important to recognize that labeling all Arab Americans as a collective unit is not only irresponsible and ethnocentric, it hinders relationships. There are a vast amount of differences between Iranian Americans and Palestinians and I need to remain cognizant of those differences as well as the similarities that I share with those groups.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
