childhood, ASD and VSD symptoms can develop gradually into adulthood. According to Setty et al. (2017), the most common symptoms of ASD and VSD in adults include dyspnea, palpitations, and heart failure. Physicians determine the best treatment plan for ASD or VSD by taking into account the child’s age, medical history, parents opinions, the severity of the condition and the child’s tolerance for specific medications (Setty et al., 2017). Importantly, some ASD and VSD spontaneously close as the child grow. However, if the hole does not close, it has to be closed through heart surgery. Some of the medications prescribed for ASD and VSD include Digoxin (strengthens the heart muscles) and Diuretics. Finally, ASD and VSD in adults are treated through surgery to close the holes (Setty et al., 2017). References

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
