N4465 Vulnerable Populations Across the Lifespan People : Describe the following people that you see in the community 1. Describe community members including demographic info: age, sex, race and ethnicity (i.e. what sorts of people do you see: young, old, male, female, single families, multiple families, generational families, etc? estimate %.) The majority of people in this area, 70%, are Caucasian, with than average age of parents at 32 years old to 47 years old, and the average age of children ranging from 7 years old to 13 years old. Roughly 15% of the people in this area are African American, 10% are Middle Eastern, and 5% are of Asian decent. Approximately, 90% of the families are heterosexual, consisting of a male father and female mother. 2.Does the population in the surrounding community seem to be homogeneous or diverse (as evidencedby – for example – hair styles, clothing, signs in languages other than English, restaurants, festivals, etc.)? 3. Describe healthy lifestyle behaviors observed (i.e. exercise, relaxation, healthy eating, wearing helmets when biking, seat belt usage, etc.). Note the age, ethnicity, and race of persons (estimate %) observed participating in healthy lifestyle behaviors. There are 3 parks in this area, Eureka Park, Wiggly Field Dog Park, and Crosstimbers Park. Everyday people come to these parks to run along the paths, walk with their dogs, or to let their children play on the playgrounds. The children are well protected will all of the proper safety gear.
