2.1 Business Type and Purposes of VietinBank. 2.2 Overview of HSBC Bank HCBC was the first foreign bank in 2009, then having the first wholly foreign-owned bank Ltd. operating in Vietnam. It is the largest foreign bank in Vietnam, having experienced for 150 years (HSBC, 2017). 2.3 Some differences and similarities between two banks. VietinBank (State-owned bank) HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd Growth Employees: 23,784; Head office in Hanoi; 958 transaction offices; 155 branches nationwide; Net profit before tax in 2017 was9,206,194 increasing by 752,491 comparing to that in 2016 (VietinBank, 2017). Employees: 1,294 Head office in Hochiminh, nine transaction offices; 6 branches in Hanoi, Hochiminh, Binhduong, Cantho, Danang. Net profit before tax in 2017 was 2,231,874 which is VND 430,321 million higher than that in 2016 (HSBC, 2017). Business goal Concentrating on the business activies to have shrap and sustainable development; Improving contemporary product, current services; Making attempt at increasing the increasing number of customer, taking market share and growing revenue and profits on a consistent basis (HSBC, 2017).
