risks section as well as the distracted driving laws and regulation section. Along with the risks are what government/America is doing to prevent and reduce distracted driving through many laws and regulation of these laws. The strength of this essay is that it doesn’t limit itself to only one portion of distracted driving; it tries to give you an overview of the entire topic itself. If I had to choose a weakness for this article it would have to be that it is indeed an overview and doesn’t provide many examples of the given topic.Lahood, Ray. Secretary Lahood on Distracted Driving. U.S. Department of Transportation. YouTube. Web. 16 March 2010. The main idea of this video was to have Secretary Lahood show what the U.S. Department of Transportation is planning on doing about distracted driving while also providing a bit of awareness about distracted driving as well. Specifics on this video were not necessarily included however I think that it was more of a video to show that our society today is indeed taking action on this so-called “epidemic” and one of the main if not the main department of transportation is taking a stand against it. It’s obvious that the priority for them is to ultimately reduce any type of distraction through handheld devices rather than any other type of distraction. This is understandable for it is the most dangerous form of distracted driving. The department of transportation has stated that they are attempting to work with unnamed cell phone companies to reduce and ultimately prevent hand held devices while driving. This to me doesn’t seem to promising because I really feel that it will never be completely

This text obviously relates to my topic through what we are doing as a society to prevent and reduce this problem but is very limited in its discussion. Watching this video I thought that the main strong point was that this message was being brought up and explained by an authoritative figure of society. However, the fact that details were very limited showed how weak it was. This video at times felt like more of an empty promise because of the lack of detail. The Secretary gave me some good quotations that I could possibly use but based on real information, I don’t think it was the most helpful but at the same time it did help me quite a bit in some portions of my paper."Survey Reveals Employers Recognize Dangers of Distracted Driving." Professional Safety. 55.4 (2010). Print. This article is very well summarized in its title itself, however employers or companies with company vehicles are really the ones taking notice to the dangers of distracted driving. Companies with company vehicles are cracking down on distracted driving through a series of policies to remove all hand held devices (mainly phones) from their workers while they are driving. They are not necessarily taking them away literally but they are putting a ban on them, which basically states that driving while
