Natural Law-rests on certain views of what the world is like- it is in rational order with values and purposes built into nature. 1. we see order in nature 2. therefore there should be order with humans iii. Aristotelian – everything in nature has a purpose 1. He asked 4 questions – a. What is it? b. What is it made of? c. How did it come to exist? d. What is it for? iv. Not as obvious that things in nature have as explicit purpose as say knife.

1. Eyes are for seeing, teeth are for chewing. Etc. – everything has a purpose and a function. v. Order is a rational place with specific purposes. 1. Everything is for man- very anthropocentric view. vi. Christian thinkers liked this view and just added God to it.
