The artists that represented the Pop Art movement focused on artifacts from the reality they lived in, theirsources were products from the mass media. Arts that were considered low forms of art would be treated by this group ofartists as fine art. The Pop Art movement featured a group of artists that represented the new movement in severaldifferent ways. Some of the focused on tapping the arts of the unban streets and others would explore the newspapers andeven telephone books.RE: Pop ArtAmber White8/18/2015 7:30:19 PMPop Art was a way for artists to connect with the "non artsy" set, it was something that a regular person couldrelate to.Though when I think of this I can only think of the TV show "Mad Men" for some reason, probably theadvertisement factor that is connected with this type of art.This is an interesting article on the history of pop art.There is a section related to the philosphy that isinformative.One of the philosophies mentioned is a More Relevent Style of Art.Here it explains that in the1950's and 60's going to an art museum was tedious and unappreciated because the general public had to studythe museum guidebook to understand the art.With Pop Art though people could recognize and appreciate the artwithout all the studying previous required.Pop-art made museums and galleries more relevant to thegeneral public.
