Assessment task 3: Source and use information on hospitality technology Assessment type: Scenario, role-play and written activities Assessment task description This is the third (3rd) assessment task you have to successfully complete to be deemed competent in this unit of competency which you must complete independently. The task is comprises of practical activities and answers you need to provide to scenarios. You must respond to activities and submit them to your Trainer/Assessor. You will receive your feedback within two weeks - you will be notified by your Trainer/Assessor when results are available. Where your answers are deemed not satisfactory after the first attempt a resubmission attempt will be allowed. Location Level 2, 401 Sussex Street, Sydney, NSW 2000 Purpose of the assessment task The purpose of this assessment task is to assess the students’ skills in being able to demonstrate their ability to source and use information on hospitality technology. Students must: Source and access information on current and emerging technologies that impact on operational duties. Use information on technology to suggest new and improved workplace practices. Use current and emerging technology in day to day work activities. Assessment Conditions Skills must be demonstrated in a hospitality industry service environment. This can be: Based on an industry workplace; or a simulated industry environment or activity for which information on the hospitality industry is sourced. Assessment must ensure access to: computers, printers, communication technology and information programs used to source industry information plain English documents issued by government regulators that describe laws specifically relevant to the hospitality industry: food safety responsible service of alcohol responsible conduct of gaming local community protection.
