20.In your opinion, what changes need to take place in the healthcare industry? Conduct an internet search to find ideas to support your answer. (For example, lack of healthcare facilities and doctors in low income areas.) I think that the pricing of services of healthcare are extreme. I realize that in today's world of technology there are huge expenses that have to be recuperated. Also, payroll is costly as these individuals are educated with degrees and are highly compensated. Medical equipment is very advanced and costly, yet well utilized for proper diagnosing. I think that pricing should be more justifiable, so that patients can afford medical attention. I understand that insurance companies are billed large amounts with expectations of a decent financial return. I think that medication should definitely be more affordable. Nothing is more important than good health and I feel sad for those who cannot afford to buy necessary medications. I once read about the cost of an epi pen, which is used for an allergic reaction. There are children that must always have one within reach, as well as other individuals who have extreme allergies. The cost of the pen has increased significantly and has impacted many families financially. In an article dated 2016, Fortune.com indicates that the increase of epi pen pricing increased from $100 to $600 in the past decade. That is very unaffordable! In comparison to a drug over dose case where dying patients are given narcan to savetheir lives, it is provided at the moment without thinking of money. Then it is almost expected that these overdose patients don't even stress about the cost associated with their life saving experience. It is disturbing that a child with an allergic reaction has to buy an epi pen at the cost of $600 and that a drug addict gets their life saved for free. 5
